For its ninth year, the Washington Ideas will convene the nation's leaders, from politics and government to business and culture, for two days of idea sharing and discussion. From the heart of the nation’s capital, the Forum will tackle the issues confronting the country and the world, including politics and policy, economics and trade, race and justice, education, global affairs, technology and beyond. Again, Washington Ideas will be expanded across the week. With events happening all across DC, participants can catch a film screening or enjoy networking nights with some of the nation's top minds and industry leaders.

ABOUT

Join Atlantic editors Jeffrey Goldberg, Julia Ioffe, Eliot Cohen, and Matt Thompson for a debate about one of the biggest foreign policy challenges of our time: Russia. Nearly a year after Trump's election, what damage has his norm-breaking presidency had on America's global standing, and particularly our relations with Russia?

For The Atlantic's October cover story, The Trump Presidency: A Damage Report, Cohen assesses whether Trump's policies are ending the American era. Ioffe, an expert on Russia, diplomacy, and foreign policy, reported extensively from Russia earlier this year.
